Asmita Hamro is an academic magazine published from Kathmandu, Nepal and available in both online and print editions. The online edition is updated regularly as required, and the print edition publishes special articles and materials every six months in addition to the materials published online. It is registered in District Administration Office, Kathmandu.
The magazine aspires to serve as a bridge between scholars and activists to deepen our understanding of the status of women, the socio-economic-cultural factors for oppression of women, particularly of the poor and the marginalized, under the varied forms of Patriarchy in Nepal. The publication of Asmita aspires to contribute for the building of a society where men and women and non-binary genders have equal opportunities for nurturing and unleashing their full potential and decide freely how they want to live their lives in a culture of mutual understanding and support.
The magazine, therefore, finds it imperative to support women’s liberation movement in Nepal and express solidarity with such movements in other part of the world. Both Nepali and English languages will be used in this magazine. We look forward to warm support of all sections of society, including readers, well-wishers, fellow travelers and writers, for Asmita Hamro magazine.
